Trip Information

  • Preparation Material/Info before we go –
    • Presentations that the kids have done in terms of research before we go there (yes, they have homework!), including why they want to go on this trip, expectations, etc.
    • unfortunately I only have about 1 or 2 so far, (still waiting on a 3rd, and about 3 more in the wings) and I have a PPT I was setting up but haven’t finished yet 🙁    Here are some samples – actually the one from Hunter Tripp on Poland is ready, but mine is not ready yet!  You could use Hunter’s as a sample if you want.
    • include links to WYD USCCB WYDUSA websites and resources
      • there is a lot of good info here – snippets of info, history, background, etc. that folks maybe interested in.
  • While we are abroad in Poland (& Rome!) – (I do plan to get the Verizon International data plan)
    • kids proposed that we post daily onto our parish Facebook –
      • we plan @ least one group photo wherever we are; we can ‘blog’ our experiences realtime
    • it will also be a good way for folks to know that we are well and safe 🙂
    • Maybe include a live link to the WYD events that people can ‘tune into’.   The USCCB also encourages ‘stateside’ WYD events for those who aren’t traveling abroad.  This could be a ‘stateside’ way of participating too.
  • After we return to Big Isle  –
    • we are planning on doing a presentation/thank you/video or something when we return (hopefully w/in 1 week of return)
    • and as the WYD site says, the pilgrimage doesn’t really end after we disembark the plane, it can continue for months following 🙂
